This fund is established to gather Zakat funds to then give Qardh al-Hasan (Arabic: قرض الحسن, translation: benevolent lending) to qualified students in the United States and International Students to attend ALA Islamic School. Qardh al-Hasan is an Islamic concept of interest-free lending. It is based on the principle of helping others without expecting a financial gain. ALA Foundation Zakat Fund will allow a student in the United States or from anywhere in the world to attend ALA Online School and complete an American High School Diploma, preparing them for entry to any University in the United States.
